Fall Photos

Every year (that we've been here) since Evi was a year and a half old, I've taken the kids out to take pictures of them playing in the fall leaves in the park at the end of our street. I made an attempt at it again yesterday. But Evi wasn't feeling it for some reason. And then after one picture, the batteries went dead in my camera. So this is what we got.

In fiecare toamna (cat am fost aici in Berea) de cand Evi avea un an si jumatate, am facut poze cu copiii jucandu-se in frunze intr-un parc mic la capatul strazii noastre. Am incercat sa fac asta ieri din nou. Dar Evi nu prea vroia--nu stiu de ce. Si dupa ce am facut o singura poza, s-au terminat bateriile in aparatul meu. Am ramas doar cu asta...

Paper Trail

This is what Samuel's been doing today. Cutting everything in sight. Maybe he's a little too young to try out the scissors, but he's doing a pretty good job at it. And he's really into it. We had little papers all over the house for a while today.

Asta face Samuel azi. Taie tot ce gaseste. Poate este prea mic sa aiba un foarfec, dar face destul de bine cu el. Si ii place foarte mult. Am avut hartiute peste tot in casa azi.


And the mess in the background is what I've been doing--reorganizing the kids' clothes--getting ready for fall and winter!

Si ceea ce vedeti in spate este ce fac eu azi--organizez hainele copiilor din nou. Ii pregatesc pt. toamna si iarna.

Sitting Up

Just yesterday I said that Daniel wasn't sitting up. But today that's changed. Although he's had a couple tumbles backwards, he is holding himself up really well and sitting for several minutes at a time. Here's the proof.

Chiar ieri am spus ca Daniel nu stie sa stea pe fund. Dar azi a invatat. A cazut in spate de cateva ori, dar se tine bine in sus. Jos sunt poze ca dovada.

And here are the last of the pictures from San Diego. The baby didn't get out quite as much. But, as you see, we did put his feet in the ocean for a few seconds. I think he would've liked to sit and play in the sand. But since he can't sit up yet, that didn't happen.

Si azi pun ultimile poze facute in California. Daniel n-a facut asa de multe lucruri acolo. Dar, dupa cum vedeti, i-am bagat picioarele in ocean pt. cateva secunde. Cred ca i-ar fi placut sa stea pe nisip sa se joace si el. Dar nu stie sa stea in sus inca, deci n-a putut sa se joace acolo.

Scenes from San Diego-Evi

Today I'm posting pictures and a short clip of Evi on vacation. She had such a good time, and on our drive home from the airport she even demanded that we send her back to California.

Azi vreau sa pun niste poze si un video-clip cu Evi in vacanta. A avut un timp asa de bun acolo, si cand veneam acasa cu masina de la aeroport ne-a spus s-o trimitem inapoi in California.

This is the sand castle Nelu and the kids (cousins and all) were working on.
Asta-i castelul pe care l-au facut Nelu si toti copiii (chiar si verisorii).

Here she is playing on the beach where Aunt Leah got married.

And here's the clip of Evi playing on the beach. It's a little wobbly because I was holding a squirmy baby and I couldn't see well because of the bright sun. Anyway, you can tell she was having a very good time--completely lost in her play.

Si aici este video-ul cu Evi jucand-se la plaja. Aparatul s-a miscat prea mult pt. ca il tineam pe Daniel si pt. ca nu puteam sa vad bine din cauza soarelui. Oricum, puteti sa vedeti cat de mult i-a placut acolo--era foarte atenta la ceea ce facea.
