Grocery Shopping

Today I took the kids with me to get groceries, and all three of them cried at some point during the trip--sometimes all together. What fun! And this is the result of a crazy morning of shopping...



Copiii au mers cu mine azi la cumparaturi, si au plans toti cel putin o data cat am fost plecati--si uneori toti o data! Uite ce bine doarme Evi dupa o dimineata obositoare la cumparaturi!

Summer Apples

This is Samuel's favorite summer pastime--eating crab apples. When he goes outside to play, the first place he hits is the side of the yard where the neighbors' apples fall. He eats probably three per day!

Samuel mananca merele care cad in curte la noi din pomul vecinilor. Cand iese afara sa se joace, merge imediat la mere. Si cred ca mananca cam trei pe zi! Sunt preferatele lui.

Daniel is 10 weeks old today. I can hardly believe that that much time has passed since he was born. He's started laughing recently--it's so much fun to watch!

Daniel are 10 saptamani azi. Nu-mi vine sa cred ca a trecut 10 saptamani de cand s-a nascut. Este foarte scump. A inceput sa rada cu voce tare in ultima vreme!

Bike and Time-out

Evi learned to ride her bike today! She just told me this morning as we were heading out for a walk that she was ready and that she wanted me to take the training wheels off. So I did and off she went! I really think the scooter she got from Nana and Grandpa for her birthday helped her learn how to balance for her bike, because she didn't even wobble or fall like I expected.

Evi stie sa mearga cu bicicleta acum! A invatat azi dimineata. A mai incercat o data mai de mult, si n-a reusit. Dar azi cand noi am iesit afara, a zis ca este gata sa mai incerce. Si prima oara cand s-a urcat, nici n-a cazut deloc. Doar a mers. M-a uimit, pt. ca a durat mult mai mult ca eu sa invat la sapte ani.

When Evi was put in time-out this morning, Samuel took over a chair and sat down right beside her. I thought that was pretty sweet. Didn't want her to feel lonely, I guess.

Cand Evi a avut un timp de pedeapsa azi dimineata sa se gandeasca la comportamentul ei, s-a asezat si Samuel langa ea. Ca si cum vroia sa-i spuna, "Sunt alaturi de tine!" A fost foarte scump.

A Bad Fall

Last night we had a scare. Or I should say I did. It happened while Nelu was at work, like everything else bad that happens. Samuel took a hard fall off a chair that someone (I won't mention names, but you might guess) pulled him off of. He fell flat on his back, and started acting really strange when I picked him up. Thought we might have to take him to the ER. Actually, I thought I might have to call 911 because I didn't know what was going on--I just started freaking out. Anyway, he was soon fine, and we figured later that he probably knocked the wind out of himself.

Samuel a cazut rau pe spate de pe fotoliu aseara. A inceput sa reactioneze foarte ciudat dupa ce-a cazut. Si m-am speriat foarte tare. Nelu era la munca cand s-a intamplat, dar bine ca vorbeam cu sora mea si mama mea la telefon atunci. M-au ajutat sa stiu ce sa fac. Oricum, a fost bine cu putin dupa ce-a cazut, si ma bucur mult.

Babysitter

Last night was the first night Grandpa babysat for us. He stayed with Samuel while I took Evi --and of course Daniel, too--to a birthday party at the pool. Nelu was at work. Evi had great fun in the water, and Daniel did well. And Samuel was great for Grandpa. They just read books for a while, and then it was bedtime. Not bad!

A stat tatal meu cu Samuel cat am dus-o pe Evi la o petrecere la bazin. L-am luat si pe Daniel cu noi. A fost prima oara cand tatal meu a fost "babysitter" pt. noi. Si cred ca el si Samuel au avut un timp bun impreuna!

In other news, Daniel had his two-month check up last week and weighed a whopping 15 lbs. Just a tiny bit less than Samuel at his two-month check up.

Cand l-am dus pe Daniel la doctorita saptamana trecuta am aflat ca cantareste 6,8 kilograme! Si Samuel era asa de mare la doua luni. Avem doi baieti mari!

First Post

I've been thinking about starting a blog for about a year now probably. Not so much as a journal to display my deepest thoughts but rather as a way to connect better with loved ones (most of whom live far away) and allow them a glimpse into our lives. This is especially for the grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who may never have seen the kids in real life or who may have to wait a long time before seeing them again. Because they grow all too fast.

O sa incerc sa scriu si in romaneste (mai ales pt. Bunica si Bunicul) daca vor sa se uite la poze si sa stie ce fac copiii. Ne bucuram ca putem sa impartim viata noastra cu familia de departe.
